As the legend goes, the ancient Druids considered the Mistletoe plant to be sacred for its use in curing illness, as an antidote for poisons, and as protection from witchcraft. Whenever armies met under the mistletoe in the forest, they had to lay down their arms and observe a truce until the next day. From this comes the ancient custom of hanging a ball of mistletoe from the ceiling and exchanging kisses under it as a sign of friendship and goodwill, a custom still found in many European and North American countries. |

At Mistletoe Ranch, we celebrate Christmas every day of the year. Think about that for a moment and ask yourself if that isn't the way it should be. We respond with marvelous decorations, exquisite ornaments, and fully-trimmed trees to create a festive world of lights and Christmas cheer. If you visit the Black Hills, be sure to stop by Mistletoe Ranch, a central Black Hills attraction in itself. |
